A native of Sri Lanka, Cinnamon is a highly delicious spicy-sweet spice with refreshing aroma and taste. It is bark of a tropical evergreen tree. It is said that Cinnamon was one of the first spices to be used in the ancient world.
There are two kinds of Cinnamon available in market these days - Cassia cinnamon from China, Vietnam and Indonesia and Ceylon cinnamon from Sri Lanka, India, Brazil and the Caribbean.
These Cinnamon sticks are Ceylon cinnamon which is mellow and sweeter.
It is commonly used in cakes and other baked goods, milk and rice puddings, chocolate dishes and fruit desserts. Also it is used in curries and unavoidable ingredient in garam masala and biriyani.
